Music

My music career started before I was born, as it was in the DNA that would be passed on down to me from several generations ago.

Agostino Triggiani, my paternal grandfather, immigrated to the US from Ischitella, Italy, bringing with him a suitcase and his guitar. Once unpacked, he established a guitar and mandolin quartet and began performing on live radio shows and for Italian festivals in the Paterson, New Jersey area. He passed the gene on down to his son, my father, Art, who played tenor saxophone and clarinet in swing bands. By the time I popped my head into the world, the house was full of music.

I giggled when my grandmother played her mandolin, a rare Vinaccia from 1792 that she had brought with her from Italy. Her ancestors, originally from Austria, lived in Cilento, Italy, where her father was a violinist. The music genes had come at me from all directions, and as a child I studied piano, clarinet, guitar, and drums. So, it’s no surprise I ended up becoming a professional musician.

My husband, classical guitarist, Vincent Musco, and I founded a private music school, Westwood Music Studios, in 1993 and now have a full staff of over twelve professional music teachers at our school. The music school is our foundation from which other musical endeavors spawn.

Being innately creative, I love composing music, and my original Christmas song, “Dominooch” was featured on CBS TV News New York and premiered in iHeart Radio in 2018. I have several more original compositions in the works.

I’m the drummer and founding member of the cross-genre band, Innova, that plays jazz, blues, American Songbook standards, classical, and classic rock.
